Limestone walls in Perth
Cream limestone block laid by hand on a concrete footing. The classic Perth wall, and the one most people picture when they ask us for a quote.

Limestone retaining walls, laid by hand
Limestone has been holding back Perth sand for a long time and there is a reason it is still the first choice. It suits the local light, it weathers to a softer cream over the years, and it looks at home in front of a brick and tile house.
Every block is placed by hand on a poured footing, which is slower than stacking a modular wall but gives you that solid, slightly irregular face you cannot fake. We finish with a capping course so the top line stays crisp.

Limestone retaining wall FAQs
Is limestone dearer than modular?
Usually a little, because it takes longer to lay by hand. The gap is smaller than people expect and it comes down to the length and height of your wall. We price both if you want to compare.
Does limestone need sealing?
Not for it to last. Some people seal a wall to slow down staining near a lawn or a garden bed, but plenty of Perth limestone walls have never been touched and are still fine.
Will it go green or blotchy?
Limestone picks up some marking where sprinklers hit it, the same as any masonry. Keeping the reticulation off the face of the wall is the simplest fix.
