Fencing FAQs
Who pays for a boundary fence?
A fence on the boundary is normally shared with your neighbour, half each for a basic fence. We can write the quote so it splits two ways and you both get the same paperwork, which makes the conversation next door a lot easier.
How high can I build a fence?
Most Perth councils allow a boundary fence up to 1.8 metres without an application, and front fences are usually limited to something lower with sight lines kept clear at the driveway. The rules differ council to council, so we check yours before quoting.
Is my old fence asbestos?
If it is a grey fibre cement sheet fence from before the 1990s, quite possibly. Do not break it or drill it. We will have a look when we come out, and we remove and dispose of it properly as part of the job.
How long does a fence take?
A standard suburban run is usually one to two days, split over two visits because the post concrete needs to set before the panels go on. Removing an old fence first adds a day.
Does my pool fence have to be certified?
Pool barriers in WA have to meet the standard and your council inspects them. We build to those rules, so it passes the first time. Confirm the current requirements with your council, since they are updated from time to time.
